Big Symbols in Nightmaker
Nightmaker keeps its paytable stark. Four esoteric markings act as lows and pay 0.4x the bet for five of a kind. Highs are three odd objects plus a skull face symbol, paying from 0.8x up to 10x for five. The wild substitutes for any paying symbol, and a line made only of wilds pays the same as the top symbol. Scatters trigger features later. It is a sparse set, which helps the board breathe once splits and multipliers start stacking.
Any pay symbol can appear as a big 3x5 symbol on the middle three reels. When it lands it splits into fifteen 1x1 symbols, and the column effects still apply. On any initial base spin the rattle can fire and award one to three big symbols, which can turn a round that looked finished into a burst of cascades. In my sessions that shake often decided whether the grid fizzed or just sulked for a while.

Feature Row in Nightmaker
The feature row sits above the reels and kicks in the moment a symbol aligns beneath it. Each icon there affects only its column, so timing matters. Used feature symbols respin, handing you another go at landing something useful up top. This layer turns many spins into small puzzles where you chase the right drop order. When cascades line neatly, the board feels wired and you can sense a larger pattern brewing.
Wild Spirit adds wilds to the top positions of the affected columns, touching up to three spots. If wilds or scatters already sit up there, the game places new wilds in the next available cells, and any spawned wild takes the multiplier of the symbol it replaces. Wild Spirit also keeps wilds intact for one extra win. Symbol Multiplier tags every instance of the indicated symbol type in that column with a value that can carry significant weight.
Wildfire needs a wild on the column, then it replaces everything there except scatters with wilds. The highest wild multiplier on that column is copied to all wilds, and a symbol holding a higher value gives that specific wild the bigger number. Wildfire also grants one extra win of indestructibility. Split Symbols divides every symbol on the column apart from scatters, but a symbol can split only once and a column caps at ten tiles. Wild multipliers do not apply to the later jumping wild.

Three scatters award eight free spins. One paying symbol is picked and carries a persistent multiplier for the whole round. The four corners of the grid open, lifting the number of ways to win and making links more frequent on paper. If a scatter hits a corner you gain two extra spins and that corner turns into a blocker, which changes pathing and can both help routing and choke parts of the screen.
If one of the three triggering scatters is a super scatter, the Super Bonus fires instead. The super symbol becomes a jumping wild that moves to a new position after each win and between free spins, temporarily taking the current multiplier of the cell it covers.
