The growing wild feature spices up base game spins. When a wild symbol lands, it expands randomly over 1, 2, or 3 adjacent symbols. It never expands over scatters or existing wilds. In the trail bonus game you take 1 to 6 steps around a looping map each turn. Every turn removes one spark from a meter that starts at 3 sparks. Hit certain nodes to refill. Each time you pass the starting gates you gain +1 extra spark and every prize node increases by +3x. Early runs can end quickly if the meter drains, but once the refills start to chain, the round opens up.
Each node is a prize, a feature, or a golden feature. Landing on a Streamliner train node activates any feature at once. Landing on a regular prize node pays its value. The Golden Streamliner can only trigger persistent features or the collect all feature. That is where the round can swing, as persistent effects fire after every move and the grid fattens up fast when you loop the map.
Feature mix includes Cash adding 15x to 30x, Sheriff adding 3x to 5x to each prize node, Two Guns adding 75x to 125x to 2 to 3 nodes, and Sniper doubling 2 to 4 nodes. Persistent Sheriff, Persistent Two Guns, and Persistent Sniper repeat after each move. Refuel adds spark icons to prize nodes, Throw Back throws your collected win onto several nodes, Collect grabs the next four prize nodes, and Collect All takes every prize on the map.
Feature Buy in Neon West
If patience is thin, you can buy into the trail bonus for 30 times the bet. I used it to test the feature pacing without grinding the base game. It drops you straight onto the loop with the spark meter running, so it is a pure shot at the trail experience. I found it handy when I wanted a quick sample of how the Streamliner and golden nodes behave, and it kept sessions snappy.
