Portals to Muspelheim in Stormforged
Hand of Surtur scatters tear downward to create a Portal to Muspelheim, but only when that portal helps a win. Each Portal acts as stacked wilds across the path. If the tear slices through a regular wild, it assigns a multiplier to the whole Portal, ranging from x2 up to x200. When more than one multiplier touches a line, values add together before applying. That interaction is the heartbeat of the base, as it turns near-misses into tidy lines.
If the tear smashes a Treasure Chest on its way, the chest pays an instant prize worth 5x to 2,500x. Hit a chest and a wild at once and the Portal multiplier applies to that cash too, which can create outrageous swings. I've had dry spells where Hands failed to activate, then one cascade set off a chain across two reels and sent the balance flying. It's swingy, but that's the draw of this feature.
Bonus Games in Stormforged
In Surtur's Vengeance, 3, 4, or 5 Surtur symbols award 10, 12, or 14 free spins. The first wild that lands on each reel becomes sticky for the duration, and any wilds on the trigger carry over as sticky. You can hold only one sticky wild per reel. Land the Ice Brand and you get a Portal to Midgard; an icy sword slices down, smashing wilds or chests like the base Portal logic. Extra Surturs add 2, 4, 6, or 8 spins.
Warriors of the Storm triggers from 3, 4, or 5 Viking symbols for 10, 12, or 14 free spins. Hammer of Thor forges a Storm Reel that stays for the bonus. Each spin, a Storm Reel shows a storm or a Viking. Storms keep the reel wild and move it one step left next spin, pushing others. In my sessions, Warriors carried the bigger bursts when two Storm Reels lined up in the centre with multipliers stacked. Surtur's Vengeance can still pay when early sticky wilds lock on reels two and three, then an Ice Brand carves through a chest and a wild. Both modes can retrigger often enough to matter. I rate Warriors as the punchier pick, while Vengeance steadies the balance during streaky patches and keeps the Portal action involved.
