How the two-stage bonus changes EV
Landing three, four or five Wilds starts stage one with a random allocation of 5 to 8, 8 to 11, or 11 to 15 free spins respectively. Each Wild marks its position, while another Wild in that position upgrades the frame. Weighting by the probability of occurrence matters because early frames have more remaining opportunities to gain upgrades.
After stage one, stage two awards 2 to 5 spins. Every framed position becomes a persistent Wild with a multiplier from x1 to x5, and multipliers contributing to the same payline are added. The feature lifts EV by a few points within individual bonus paths when frames collect on the first three reels, but sparse marking leaves the marginal EV of the feature slim.
Eligible non-UK versions price the Bonus Buy at 70x stake with 96.00% RTP. The expected value works out at 67.2x, so the buy price exceeds its fair value by 2.8x stake. That is negative EV despite the appeal of immediate access. The bonus buy only stacks up at a hypothetical price of 67.2x or lower, assuming unchanged mathematics.
