Another Egypt slot, really?
Nightfall Hunting is not another Egypt slot, thankfully, although another gothic monster hunt is hardly a radical escape. Released by TaDa Gaming on 28 August 2024, it uses five reels in a 3-4-4-4-3 arrangement with 30 fixed paylines. Oversized Nudging Wilds provide the central feature, adding multipliers whenever they move fully into view.
Visually, vampires, zombies and werewolves crowd a purple, black and blood-red setting while an armed hunter supplies the required grim expression. Production is polished, especially during the opening cinematic and Wild animations. Still, the same recycled backdrop, yet again, merely swaps Egyptian masonry for gothic arches. Sigh, and on we go. The execution has care, even where the concept feels thoroughly processed.

Reading the monster-filled reels
Symbols divide into royal low pays, gothic character icons and several functional specials. Five matching premium symbols return between 4x and 20x the stake, while five royals pay roughly 2x to 3x. My eyes slide off the reels without catching on anything whenever those royals dominate. Their plain design clashes with the detailed monsters and makes losing sequences look particularly vacant.
Oversized 1x4 Undead Wilds depict a werewolf, zombie or vampire and appear only across reels 2, 3 and 4. A partially visible Undead Wild nudges completely into place, covers its reel and adds +1 to the spin multiplier. Ordinary Wilds substitute for regular symbols. ExMatch symbols occupy the outer reels and become far more relevant than the standard paytable artwork.

How the darkness actually pays
Landing ExMatch symbols simultaneously on reels 1 and 5 triggers the Horror Feature. Every royal symbol across the middle reels then changes into a Wild. I have seen this mechanic a hundred times over in slightly altered forms, but its interaction with full-height Undead Wilds is coherent. Multiple nudges can raise the multiplier further before it applies to the complete spin payout.
Three Scatters award six spins in the Eclipse Bonus, with at least one Undead Wild guaranteed per spin. Three Scatters plus two ExMatch symbols instead award eight spins in the Horror Eclipse Bonus. ExMatch symbols remain sticky there, so the Horror Feature activates throughout the round. The bonus is the same old one under a new coat of paint, but the combined Wild coverage has genuine purpose.

That return sits above the common 95% to 96% range, although the 97.09% RTP changes nothing about the deja vu. High volatility still produces prolonged stretches without meaningful feature activity.
Thirty fixed paylines feel restrictive beside current ways-to-win systems, particularly before the outer ExMatch pair appears. My interest had drained away by the third spin during quieter runs because repeated royals offer little visual or mechanical response. A budget measured across several hundred base stakes gives the features room to appear, but no staking pattern can alter their trigger probability. Good mathematics cannot organise short-term luck.
