How the Atlantis bonus mechanics work
I was not sure what the Scatter did at first. Three FS symbols trigger Sunken Empire and award 10 Free Spins. Four trigger Pose for Poseidon with 15 Free Spins. Both bonuses keep the base mechanics and add a Progressive Trident Bar. Each Fisherman moves the bar by one step, even when it collects nothing. After every fifth Fisherman, the bar upgrades and gives 8 extra Free Spins.
The upgrade levels guarantee minimum Fisherman multipliers of x2, x3 and x5. Pose for Poseidon gives a higher chance of reaching these levels. The free spins caught me by surprise, in a good way, because the bonus has a clear target rather than a collection of unrelated symbols. I think I get the multiplier now, more or less. Still, the maximum bonus multiplier is lower than in The Big Haul, which is a real step back for returning players.
What does Kraken do? A Crown on reel 1 becomes the Kraken after normal wins are paid. Marlins and Jackpot Marlins stay locked, while the remaining reels respin with Marlins, Jackpot Marlins or Dead Fish. New paying symbols become sticky, and the respins stop after an empty result. Fisherman symbols cannot land during this feature, so the Kraken has its own separate collection moment.
