Avalanche Wins clear out winners and drop new stones. Each consecutive avalanche adds +1 to the win multiplier in the base, to a ceiling of x5. Every win evaluation also grows the grid by +1 row, up to four extra rows for a 6x8 layout. In the main game the height resets after the sequence stops. Regular Wilds and Calamity Wilds both feature in Gonzo's Quest 2. When a Calamity Wild forms part of a win, it triggers Random Wilds, dropping 3 to 6 extra Wilds onto the grid before the next avalanche. Wilds don't land on scatters, other wilds, or a dormant Calamity Wild. High pays and scatters can land as 2x2, 3x3, or 4x4 colossal tiles. During Random Wilds, up to two high-paying colossal tiles may convert into colossal Wilds, which then count as multiple 1x1 symbols when wins are tallied.
Free Spins land when 3, 4, 5, or 6 scatters hit in succession from the left, paying 10, 12, 15, or 20 spins. The round starts at x2, then climbs by +2 per avalanche and resets between spins. Retriggers grant same number of extra spins, and a colossal retrigger upgrades to Super Free Spins. Super Free Spins need at least one colossal trigger: 2x2 starts at x2 and adds +2, 3x3 starts x3 and adds +3, 4x4 starts x5 and adds +5. The multiplier does not reset between spins.
