Gerard's Gambit - Game Overview
I joined Gerard Wilde in Play'n GO's Gerard's Gambit, starting on a 1x3 grid with a single payline that grows to 5 reels and 10 paylines as challenges stack up. You move through 10 locations, from Gerard's Mansion through Egypt, Mexico, Greece, and India, repeating the tour as the levels climb. Tasks like accumulate three wins tick the meter, the grid expands, symbols gain value, and new features appear. The 3,000x potential sits in mid-range territory, but the journey stays varied.

Gerard's Gambit Slot Features
You level up by clearing the task above the meter, and each step shifts you to a fresh location. The grid grows from 1x3 to 5x3 at the top end, and the higher tiers add 5 low and 5 high value symbols. Wilds arrive from level 2, stepping in for pay symbols and forming their own wins. Hit five wilds on a line and it pays 50x the stake, which helps when the reels finally stretch to allow 5-of-a-kind hits.
Level 3 brings sticky wilds respins when two or more wilds land, while level 4 turns it into streak respins that carry on as new wilds appear. India at level 5 keeps the streaks and totals wins after each respin, plus bonus symbols can drop for 2x to 20x prizes. From level 6, scatters on reel 2 launch five free spins with sticky wilds; level 7 adds bonus symbols up to 60x; level 8 adds +1 spin per scatter.
Later, level 9 pushes bonus symbol prizes up to 100x, and level 10 keeps the free spins extras while wilds expand to fill a reel during the round. After any payout, I sometimes flick on the Gamble Feature. There's a 500x overall cap, with coin flips, a multiplier wheel that can show up to x10, and a higher or lower choice. A correct pick doubles the win, and you can do that twice on the trot.
Symbols and Paytable in Gerard's Gambit
Premium symbols top out between 8x and 20x your stake for five of a kind, but you need the expanded layout in the upper levels to even land those lines. Early on you're working with tight space, then the 5x3 setup opens things up. At those stages you have a full set of 5 low value and 5 high value symbols, so paytables feel more meaningful. The value climb mirrors the travel log, and it's a neat way to show progress.
Wilds carry their own table, paying up to 50x for five while substituting to complete or improve wins. Bonus symbols appear in certain stages, landing instant prizes from 2x to 20x at first, then up to 60x in Mexico later on, and 100x at level 9 in India. Those drops keep the base moving while you chase features. When the grid has room for 5-of-a-kind, the premium hits and wild lines start to matter more.

Wins and RTP in Gerard's Gambit
The stated max win is 3,000x the stake, and the hit rate for that top prize sits around one in 100 million spins. RTP comes with ranges, so pay attention to the setting you get; I've seen the 96.2% figure highlighted, though it can be lower under other configurations. The game plays like a mid-range outing aimed at casual play, and that matches how the features roll out across the ten levels. Released on 27 April 2023.
