Chronicles of Olympus II - Hades: Slot Overview
Alchemy Gaming follows up the Zeus chapter with Chronicles of Olympus II - Hades, keeping the 5-reel, 4-row, 1,024 ways engine and a very high volatility profile. I’m spinning at 0.20 to 50 per go, on a default RTP of 96.05% and a hit rate circling 25.33%. The aim hasn’t shifted: build an X-Up multiplier as high as possible, then take it into Free Spins. The headline tweak is a Diamond Scatter that can spring Free Spins with the current top multiplier.
The underworld theme lands well. It’s a hot, sparking, rocky setting with dramatic audio, and the character symbols look like little works of art. I like how the X-Up trail sits to the left, always reminding me where my multiplier sits before the bonus. Greek myth is a crowded space, yet this one feels polished and confident. Under the hood it’s familiar, which suits players who enjoyed the previous outing and just want a sharper visual switch to Hades.
Scatters in Chronicles of Olympus II - Hades
There are three scatters. Red Scatters appear on all reels in the base game, but only on reels 1 and 5 in Free Spins; they pay anywhere, and 3, 4, or 5 award 8 Free Spins plus 2x, 20x, or 100x the bet. Blue Scatters show on reels 1 and 5 in the base game only and don’t award wins. Diamond Scatters show on reels 1 and 5 in both phases; two in the base game can trigger Free Spins with the current highest X-Up multiplier. Wilds substitute and can add x2, x3, or x5 per wild.

X-Up in Chronicles of Olympus II - Hades
The X-Up trail sits beside the reels with a highlighted current multiplier. Landing 2 Red Scatters collects 1 X-Up token, activating higher values on the trail as I go. Blue Scatters permanently upgrade one trail level starting from the top, and once the trail is fully turned blue, any 2 Blue Scatters will double the top-level multiplier to x25. It’s a neat ladder that rewards patient base game spins with a stronger start in the bonus.
Diamond Scatters are the new wrinkle. Hitting 2 Diamonds in the base game triggers Free Spins and awards the current highest X-Up multiplier. Tokens can carry into Free Spins, though they can’t be collected when the highest Free Spins multiplier is already active. This keeps the feature focused on hitting and holding a strong multiplier rather than endless token farming once the ceiling is reached.
Free Spins in Chronicles of Olympus II - Hades
Triggering 3, 4, or 5 Red Scatters awards 8 Free Spins with the active X-Up multiplier, plus a payout of 2x, 20x, or 100x the bet. Inside the round, landing 2 Red Scatters yields +2 spins and 1 X-Up token, which can climb the trail further if the top level isn’t active. It’s a straight, multiplier-led bonus that lives or dies on how high you arrive when it starts.
During Free Spins, 2 Diamond Scatters award the top-level X-Up multiplier and add 2 extra spins. Collected X-Up tokens are removed at the end of Free Spins, resetting progress for the next build. I like the tension between pushing the trail in the base game and letting the bonus do the heavy lifting if Diamonds show up.
Upsizer in Chronicles of Olympus II - Hades
When Free Spins trigger, I can pay to activate a higher starting multiplier via the Upsizer. The price is calculated, and any collected X-Up tokens reduce the cost of the upgrade. It’s only offered when the active X-Up level is between 1 and 8, and availability may vary by region or upper bet limits. This option suits those sessions where the trail is close but not quite where I want it before jumping into the bonus.
Buy Bonus in Chronicles of Olympus II - Hades
There’s a Feature Buy for 200x the bet that grants 8 Free Spins with an x25 multiplier. When buying the bonus, X-Up tokens aren’t collected. It’s a straight premium for instant access to the cap multiplier, handy if I don’t fancy grinding the trail and just want a shot at the best version of the round.
Chronicles of Olympus II - Hades: Slot Verdict
This feels like business-as-usual, in a good way. The studio has found its rhythm and carried it forward. I rate the presentation highly: it looks hot, with characters and setting carrying proper mythic heft. Artwork shines and the sound isn’t half bad either. If you enjoyed the Zeus edition’s shape and pace, this keeps the same spine with a darker coat and that multiplier ladder front and centre.
Gameplay isn’t wildly new, and that will suit some more than others. The Diamond Scatter is the fresh piece, letting two land to hand over Free Spins with the current highest multiplier. I did wonder how often that happens, as docs don’t spell out the hit rate, so it’s hard to price perfectly. Even so, the feature set meshes cleanly, and the multiplier build remains a satisfying chase.
One oddity is how the first X-Up title ran an x50 top multiplier and didn’t need blue levelling, while here the ceiling is x25. The max win is 5,000x, which matches the Zeus follow-up, and for very high volatility that cap will divide opinion. For me, it’s still a solid mythology slot: strong looks, straightforward maths, and a multiplier path that keeps me engaged between bonuses.
