Treasures of Aztec from PGSoft play free demo version ▶ Casino Slot Review Treasures of Aztec ✔ Return (RTP) of online slots on July 2026 and play for real money✔
Treasures of Aztec took me right back to the pre-crash grind, back in the day when six-reel cascade slots still felt a bit cheeky. Built by PG Soft, it runs on a 6-reel, 3-6 row setup with 2,025 to 32,400 ways, no paylines, and a left-to-right win rule. Good.
Wilds on the Way is the bit, grizzled players will clock it instantly: silver frames can become gold frames, then Wilds, if they keep joining wins. It reminds me of a similar slot from the old Megaways rush, though the feature set is stripped back, old style, and you can feel the old-school reel design.

Numbers give Treasures of Aztec a cleaner case than the theme does. RTP is 96.71%, volatility is medium, and the tracked hit frequency sits at 29.07%, so the maths feels dated but honest. I have played nastier medium games, especially back in the day, when we played tighter margins back then and called it normal.
Max potential is listed at 9,071x, with stakes commonly seen from 0.20 to 20 in many lobbies, although some markets stretch higher. That is proper throwback volatility rather than the all-or-bust profile of many newer releases. I have seen better around 2018 for raw identity, but not many with this exact multiplier rhythm.
Reading the Aztec paytable
Masks carry the paytable, and the top end is very old catalogue stuff: Golden Mask reaches 80x for six, Red Mask reaches 70x, and Pink Mask reaches 60x. Purple Mask drops to 30x, while Blue Mask and Green Mask sit at 15x. A and K pay up to 10x, with Q, J and 10 lower at 4x.
Wild appears only on reels 2-5 and substitutes for pay symbols, while Scatter is the bonus trigger. Framed symbols matter more than the icons themselves, because a paying silver frame becomes gold and a paying gold frame becomes Wild. The real ones know why that matters; this harks back to a classic cascade logic without copying it outright.

How the bonuses trigger
Triggering Free Spins takes four Scatters anywhere in view, which awards 10 spins. Every extra Scatter adds 2 more, so five Scatters gives 12, and so on. The starting multiplier is x2, then each winning cascade lifts it by +2. In the bonus, it does not reset after a blank spin.
Base play has its own progressive multiplier, starting at x1 and rising by +1 per cascade, then resetting once no win lands. During Free Spins, that same idea gets a better spine. Nothing like the newer releases with ten side modes; there is no Bonus Buy, and I am not annoyed by that.
One gripe, and I will have it on record: the temple drum loop repeats too tightly during longer bonus hunts, around the same short phrase until I mute it. The mechanics carry the session, not the sound. Still, it was a different game years back, and the veterans will get it when the multiplier starts stacking.
Bonus features
Free Spins

FAQ
How do silver frames become Wilds?
A silver-framed paying symbol turns into a gold-framed symbol on the next cascade. If that gold-framed symbol joins another win, it changes into a Wild.
How many Scatters give 12 free spins?
Five Scatters give 12 free spins. Four Scatters award the starting 10 spins, and each extra Scatter adds 2.
Can Wilds land on reel one?
No. Wilds appear on reels 2-5, and they substitute for regular paying symbols rather than Scatters.
Why can ways jump to 32,400?
Rows vary across the six reels, with the middle reels able to expand. That variable layout is why the game can move from 2,025 to 32,400 ways.
What happens after a blank bonus spin?
The bonus multiplier does not reset after a non-winning free spin. It holds its current value and keeps climbing by +2 after the next winning cascade.
