Reading the witchcraft paytable
Symbols follow the expected hierarchy. The Witch Wild substitutes for every regular icon, begins paying with only two on a line and returns 500x for five. How the potion bonus develops
Landing at least three Cauldron Scatters awards 13 free spins regardless of whether three, four or five appear. During the round, toadstool, nightshade and mandrake root ingredients can be collected. Completing one set grants seven additional spins, while gathered ingredients also contribute towards the Potion Bonus. That added collection task is the game's best idea, although I have seen this mechanic a hundred times over in slightly altered forms.
Outside the bonus, each line win may be risked through the Gamble Feature. Choose red or black correctly and the payout doubles; choose incorrectly and it disappears. Good. That's enough. High volatility already creates long stretches without a substantial return, so placing a hard-won payout into a double-or-nothing decision adds exposure rather than depth. At this point I am scoring purely on reflex, and the reflex says restraint.
Free spins carry most of the game's meaningful action, but the feature still depends heavily on ingredients arriving early enough to matter. Without a completed set, you receive the original 13 spins and little structural escalation. The bonus is the same old one under a new coat of paint, albeit with a clear collection target. Nothing genuinely new in about three years now, and this 2018 release plainly belongs to an older design cycle.
