WHAT'S THE STORY in Photo Safari
I’ve spun Photo Safari by Play N Go since its release on 29 Nov 2012, and the theme still holds up. It’s a 20 line slot with transparent reels over a sunlit savannah, which suits the vibe. Wins with animals flip into old-style photos while they let out fitting calls, backed by insects and drums. The characters are cartoony, with a very vain lion stealing scenes. During the free spins, the reels look like photo negatives, a neat touch that ties the whole photography angle together.
FEATURES in Photo Safari
I usually play all 20 lines and bet up to 5 coins per line. The drums are wild, substituting for any other reel symbol except the film roll and the camera. Two or more film roll scatters pay anywhere. Three or more film rolls trigger the Film Strip Spin free spins, and during that round the film roll becomes wild. Hitting three cameras launches the Photo Shoot pick-em bonus. Those two features carry the game and break up stretches of base spins.
I don’t get much extra in the base game beyond the wild and scatter; there are no multipliers or in-reel behaviour like expanding wilds. The bonuses don’t land that often for me, but they’re worth waiting for, especially the free spins with the film roll turning wild. The presentation is tidy, with smooth play and clear graphics, and the audio touches pull the safari theme together. When it runs hot, the pick round can be a handy top-up between free spins.
