First look at Fishin Frenzy Scratchcard

Fishin Frenzy Scratchcard is an instant-win scratch card from Blueprint Gaming, built on the popular fishing series. Rather than reels, it packs three separate mini-games onto one virtual card. A Reel of Fortune wheel and a Catch of the Day hold-and-win sit behind them. The stated RTP is 80%, which is low even for a scratch product.

You buy cards in batches of one, five or ten, then scratch each by hovering the cursor or hitting Reveal All. My first impression across a batch of cards: fast, simple, with a clear catch. The 80% return means the balance bleeds quickly unless the wheel or bonus grid steps in.

How my demo session actually played out

Starting at a 1.00 stake per card, I ran through roughly 120 cards in bulk purchases of ten. The three mini-games returned small amounts often, but rarely enough to cover the card cost. Across my first 40 cards the Fisherman never appeared once, so no wheel triggered, and the balance drifted down steadily.

Match two to win and the fish-finder game handed me the odd 2x or 5x return, and the Who Weighs More game occasionally landed two or three winning columns. None of it stopped the slow decline. The Fisherman finally surfaced around card 45, then again near card 70, so the wheel triggered on two separate occasions across the full run.

The symbols and mini-games of the card

Fish symbols carry the cash values across all three games and inside the bonus grid. The Fisherman is the key trigger; land it anywhere and the Reel of Fortune wheel spins into view. There are no card ranks or Wild here, since the format is a scratch card rather than a slot with reels.

Game one hides prizes behind four tackle boxes, where two matching values pay out. Game two uses three life rings and pays for each fish revealed, up to three. Game three lines up five columns of fish, yours against theirs, and pays a column when your fish weighs more. Each mini-game caps at 1,000x the stake.

Bonus phases and how they triggered

Landing the Fisherman fires the Reel of Fortune wheel, which holds ten wedges: five carry win multipliers and five carry a green arrow. On my first trigger the wheel dropped on a modest multiplier, adding a small top-up rather than a headline win. The second trigger landed a green arrow, which opened the Catch of the Day.

Catch of the Day is a 4x4 hold-and-win grid with endless respins. Every fish that lands sticks and buys another spin; the round ends when a spin brings no new fish. My grid filled about half before drying up, so I missed the full-board Big Money multiplier. That single bonus was the strongest sequence of the session, but it still came nowhere near the 5,000x ceiling.

The Big Money multiplier only arrives if you fill every window, which is a rare outcome given how quickly the respins stall. During my run the grid never came close, and the animation of each respin is slow enough that a stalled Catch of the Day feels drawn out on quick sessions.

By the numbers: returns and volatility

80% RTP is the number that shapes everything. For every £100 staked, the expected loss is £20, well above what a slot would take. The volatility is rated low, and the mini-games back that up with frequent tiny returns that keep the balance ticking without ever pulling ahead.

The maximum win is 5,000x per single card, with each mini-game capped at 1,000x, and there is a headline jackpot figure of £250,000 at the top end. In practice my biggest single return came from the Catch of the Day at roughly 30x the card cost. Everything else stayed under 10x, which matched the low-volatility profile precisely.

FAQ

How is the Reel of Fortune wheel triggered?
You need to reveal a Fisherman symbol anywhere on the scratch card. The wheel then spins across ten wedges, half of which hold win multipliers and half hold a green arrow.
What does landing a green arrow on the wheel do?
A green arrow sends you into the Catch of the Day hold-and-win round on a 4x4 grid. The multiplier wedges simply pay a cash amount instead.
How does the Catch of the Day bonus end?
Each fish that lands sticks and grants another respin. The round ends when a respin reveals no new fish, or when you fill the entire grid to claim the Big Money multiplier.
How many cards can you buy at once?
You can purchase a single card, five cards or ten cards per batch, then play each one individually before moving to the next.
Is the RTP lower than the other Fishin Frenzy games?
Yes. At 80% it is the lowest return in the whole Fishin Frenzy range, so the balance drops faster here than on the slot versions of the series.
