First look at Dragon Hatch
Dragon Hatch is a 5x5 Cluster Pays slot from PG Soft, released in December 2019 and built with portrait play in mind. You collect winning symbols to hatch four escalating dragon modifiers, ending in the Dragon Queen. On my handset the grid sits centred with a dragon perched above.
Testing it in portrait mode, the layout is clearly designed for one thumb. The 96.83% RTP is strong, and the medium volatility keeps the base game ticking over. My first impression is positive, though the reels feel tight on a smaller screen and the win cap of 15,000x depends entirely on reaching that final dragon.

The reels and paytable of Dragon Hatch
Clusters of four or more matching symbols pay when they touch vertically or horizontally anywhere on the grid. The Dragon Eye is the top regular symbol, worth roughly 2,000x for the biggest clusters, followed by the Fire, Water and Earth baby dragons in descending value.
Card suits fill the bottom of the paytable and land often to feed the collection bar. The Golden Dragon Egg is the Wild; it substitutes for any paying symbol but never pays on its own. On the tap target for the paytable button, the scroll caught and stuttered once on my device before settling, which is a minor annoyance when you want quick reference mid-session.

How the dragon features trigger
Every winning symbol during a spin and its cascades fills a meter above the grid. Reaching 10 symbols awakens the Earth Dragon, which clears all low-paying icons. At 30 symbols the Water Dragon drops four Wilds onto the grid at strategic positions.
Hitting 50 fires the Fire Dragon, which fills the grid in a checkered pattern with one chosen symbol. The Dragon Queen arrives at 70 collected symbols, turning every low-paying symbol into a premium or Wild. The early features triggered frequently in my sessions, sometimes after just three cascades. The Queen is another matter entirely, and I rarely saw the bar climb that high in a single sequence.
There is no Bonus Buy and no Free Spins round, so the meter is the only route in. On mobile the collection bar eats a strip of usable space at the top, but the progress readout stays legible even on smaller handsets.
Bonus features
RTP and volatility behaviour
Dragon Hatch runs at 96.83% RTP, comfortably above the sector average, with medium volatility and a hit frequency near 30%. The return splits roughly 81% from base play and 15.75% from the Dragon Queen, so the top feature carries a large chunk of the theoretical return.
Maximum win is 15,000x your stake, reached only through a full Dragon Queen transformation cascading into premium clusters. The base game paid me steady small wins without long dry runs, which suits the medium rating. Reaching the ceiling is genuinely rare, and building the meter to 70 takes patience rather than luck on any single spin.
